Success!

We're back from our cruise. It was just DH and me while the girls were in school.  It was a wonderful getaway for us, but I think it also forced some self-sufficiency onto the girls (no, they weren't left alone.)

PS has had her driver's license for a few months now, but hates driving and avoids it at almost all costs.  But she had to drive herself to and from school all week in order to attend her robotics meetings and she did just fine.  Our 'burb has no public transportation and her high school is in BFE.  Not driving is just not an option for her.

And she was offered an internship this week!!!  A couple of  big-wigs of a robotics company started mentoring her robotics team team this year and seem pretty impressed with her.  She can work full time over the summer if she wants and will make a couple of bucks above minimum wage. Of course, she'll also have to drive to take the internship.

Making my child a productive member of society makes me feel like a successful parent.  And this is in the field that she wants to go into and will look great on her college apps.  I'm so excited for her!

Meanwhile, SS auditioned for and got a part in the school musical without any support or assistance on my part. (Because she forgot about the audition packed for the entire week before we left when I repeatedly asked if there was anything we needed to take care of beforehand.)

TT seems to be floating a bit, trying to find her thing.  I'm a bit worried about her getting lost in the crowd when she transitions to the humongous high school next year, but she's pretty resilient.

Overall, it was a good week for everyone in the LC household.
