I'm neck deep in now.

Friday did not go at all the way I intended, but the waiver shouldn't be a problem and I talked to Partner about leaving. I was told that I was up for a big raise and offered more money to stay. I was surprised by how they want to keep me.

I was very forthcoming with my reasons for leaving and I think I set off some alarm bells.

I will talk to Big Boss on Monday officially tender my resignation. I wanted to talk to him first, but Partner will be out most of next week and I really wanted to talk to Partner in person. And new firm wants me ASAP.

Overall, Friday was stressful--and I don't know what to anticipate on Monday.

Good luck! I'm glad the waiver's not going to be a problem. And CONGRATS on the new job!

Congratulations! I find leaving a job awkward even when I like the boss -- but it passes quickly and you'll love your new gig. It does feel good to have them throw extra money at you though!

Yikes. Leaving is never fun but hopefully the excitement of the new job will erase any yuckiness from this week. Hope it goes smoothly!!!

Guess I'm the odd duck here, because I LOVE starting fresh and going someplace new and the whole challenge of reestablishing yourself is a welcome one. I guess I like being stressed. Anyway, congratulations!!! You earned it.

Thanks for all of your comments. Yes, the stress of dealing with the waiver and the hard-press to get me to stay diminished my excitement about the new job. But I think it will return once I get past telling Big Boss on Monday.

I think that it is probably a good thing that things are moving so quickly. DH pointed out that I really wouldn't want to stay longer than necessary once I gave notice--and I know he's right.
