Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause

Last week the twins wrote letters to Santa while they were home with the nanny and promptly put them in the mailbox. (Yeah, I thought they were jumping the gun a little bit--thank you Wal-mart toybook.) Anyway, DH and I never saw the letters. We meant to pull them from the mailbox after the girls went to bed, but forgot. The next day, however, the letters were gone.

Today both girls received letters from Santa addressed to them. I have no idea where they come from. I guess the postman must must have a hookup with the big guy.

SS is so excited she has read her letter about five times and keeps dancing around the room with it. I just hope she doesn't think Santa is really going to bring the $225 Hannah Montana electric scooter that was on her list--'cause it ain't gonna happen.

Santa generally spells his last name without an "e"... Holmsian slip, perhaps?

Ya know, I actually pondered whether there was supposed to be an "e" or not and just couldn't recall (and was apparently too lazy to google it.)

I have no idea what a Holmisan slip is (and again, too lazy to google.) However, I firmly believe that my ability to spell was somehow attached to my uterus and left my body along with the placenta after I delivered my first child.

And, BTW, I don't really invite spelling and grammar critiques. I know my blog is filled with both. If it's too painful to deal with, well, then don't read it.

Sorry... didn't mean for it to come across as a snipe. Rather, I found it interesting that as a lawyer you substituted a legal term (clause). It seemed to me sort of an all-too-understandable slip for lawyer, but not one of the Freudian variety because it was not about, well, you know. So, in honor of the patron saint of lawyers Oliver Wendell, I coined the term "Holmsian slip." There was no critique involved... just a clumsy attempt at noting how you turned a jolly fantasy character into a legal term (and, of course, an unfortunate Disney movie starring Tim Allen).

Ha--as soon as you pointed that out the first thing I though of was the Disney movie!

Anyway, I apologize for being unnecessarily snarky. My only excuse is that I am at maximum stress capacity, and therefore, super bitchy.
