So I was indeed the only female speaker at dad's career day (at least in the 3 classes that I spoke to, and I didn't see any other non-PTA moms wandering the halls.)
I am highly agitated by this. I emailed the principal this afternoon and received a non-response "Thanks for your concerns, we'll consider your suggestions in the future." Basically a brush-off. I have never contacted the principal to complain (although she knows who I am from other meetings), and I am really irritated that she didn't take me seriously.
But I still had a good time. I thought that it would be easiest to explain what I do to my 5th grader's class. But apparently by the 5th grade they have already developed that pre-teen apathy and seemed totally bored and disengaged.
My second graders' classes were awesome, though! The little kids were so funny, asked great questions and seemed genuinely interested. And every kid in SS's class made me a thank-you card. They are adorable and totally made my day.

That is really frustrating. :( I am not loving the way my son's school deals with me either, like all parents are morons and they know it all. Argh. It was great of you to take time out to do that, though, and obviously the kids enjoyed it which is what matters.
